Marathon Sunday is my favorite kind of Sunday

Today was a very exciting today. I got up and went down to Brooklyn to cheer for my babe in the marathon. He decided to run at least the first 8 miles of the race which would have him going to Brooklyn near the Atlantic-Pacific subway station. This was a great spot to cheer in - the crowd was soooo excited and the streets were packed. People were playing music from their apartments that lined the street. When I saw Daniel run by I jumped in the race for just a minute so we could chat and figure out where to meet up. He decided to go beyond the 8 miles because he was feeling good.
Next I hopped on the subway and headed into Queens. We decided to meet up in a very special place - right across the street from the Waters Edge. :-) When I arrived in Queens I was in the middle of a cheering section right outside the Citibank building. I saw some very touching moments including a woman whose entire family (15-20 people) including her 90 year old grandmother had come to cheer her on. She kissed each of them and then continued to run. I walked for a little while and finally made it over to the Water's Edge where I met Daniel. I was so proud of him!! He did such an amazing job and surpassed his expections. I was so inspired by his race and witnessing the other runners that I agreed to walk the marathon next year. Not sure what I'm getting myself into but I want to feel the excitement of the crowds cheering for me not to mention training with my babe!
