First, I wanted to share a bit about Chanukah in Hong Kong. The first night, we ventured
into the city to participate in the menorah lighting put on by the Chabad. We weren't sure what to expect. This event is pretty big in New York (they have the tallest menorah in the world) but then again New York has more than one synagogue. The event was really nice and very well attended. After lighting the menorah they passed out latkes and donuts and we mingled with many people from our temple who had come to celebrate.
Daniel and I also decorated our apartment and I made Chanukah cookies. Aunt Lisa sent us some great decorations which was so thoughtful of her. We exchanged gifts with each other each night as we usually do. This year I had a big surprise in store. Daniel bought me a Mac laptop! I couldn't believe it. My reaction is actually on video which we'll have to post here because its great. I think Daniel's favorite gift from me was a safe. I bought him one so he could keep all his papers in there and he doesn't have to worry about me moving his stuff when I clean the apartment. He was very excited because the safe has a combination and two keys!
Me and my new Mac!!
The holidays were wonderful and we really enjoyed our first Chanukah as a married couple. We missed hanging out with our families over the holidays, but thanks to Skype we were able to share them at least through the computer. :-)
