Back in the USSA

Sorry for the blog's long hiatus. We had a very busy month in April. From April 3 - 18 we were back in the US visiting our family and friends. We had an amazing visit! The first week, we attended Grandpa Burt's 85th birthday celebration, enjoyed two Passover seders, had a fabulous dinner in Manhattan with friends, and spent a weekend at the Noggin with both our parents & Brian & Colleen. The second half of the trip, I was in Buffalo hanging out with my parents & brother and Daniel was working in the New York office and probably playing Settlers of Catan in the evenings. :-)

What is Settlers of Catan you ask? Only the best game ever! Made even better when played with brownies and cheesecake.

The trip was supposed to be a surprise to almost everyone but ended up being a surprise only for some. The most fun person to surprise was Jodi! We arrived late at night on April 3rd. Jodi was home from school for the party already and had no idea we were coming. We had taped an OVOO message at our apartment in Hong Kong telling Jodi we wished we were there with her. When we arrived in Commack, we hung outside in the garage while Brian set up the computer and somehow convinced Jodi to check her OVOO messages. As she was listening to our message, we walked up behind her so when she heard the part that said "turn around" she would turn and see us. It didn't quite work as we had planned but she was definitely surprised!

We had a really fun two weeks at home and loved being back close to our families. We look forward to visiting again in the fall and to having them visit us in Hong Kong at the end of this year/next year!
